Teletherapy

Making Therapy Convenient and Accessible

At Chatterbox Kids we understand life is busy, and adding another appointment to the calendar can feel overwhelming. That is why we are excited to offer our evaluation and therapy services via teletherapy. Whether you are social distancing, do not have access to a specialist in your area, or do not have the time to commute to another appointment, teletherapy is an evidence-based way to access therapy from the comfort of your home.

Just as with our in-person therapy sessions, every teletherapy session is personalized to your child's preferences and goals. We use interactive activities such as songs, books, and games to engage your child in the learning process. We will also dedicate time at the end of each session to answer questions and discuss strategies for ongoing home practice. If you would like to discuss teletherapy as an option for your family, contact us for a free consultation.

Commonly Asked Questions

How does teletherapy work?

We use a secure video chat platform for our online sessions. Our platform allows us to share our screen, change our background, play games together, and more. To access online therapy, clients need a computer, tablet, or phone with an internet connection, a microphone, and speakers. Children may also use headphones to reduce outside noise and distractions.

Are there stiuations where teletherapy is not an option?

As with any service delivery model, there are situations where teletherapy is not the best solution for the child or family. In some cases, in-person therapy is needed to ensure the child is able to achieve the best possible outcomes. Whenever necessary, we will engage the child and family in a trial teletherapy session to determine if online therapy is an appropriate option.

Do you allow families to change between in-person and online sessions throughout the course of therapy?

Whenever a family needs to cancel in-person sessions due to inclement weather, a scheduling conflict, COVID-related concerns, etc., we will do our best to move the session online to ensure there is no disruption in care. We may also start our therapy sessions in-person to establish specific skills, rapport, etc., and then move to teletherapy. Our commitment is to deliver quality therapy while meeting the specific needs of the child and family; therefore, we work with each family to find the best solution for them.
